Flying Flava Pigs

This is my third Printmaking assignment for the semester. It's a relief print. I cut up my thumb pretty bad carving it out, but I really like the outcome. The prompt given to us was irrational or illogical. Now what's more illogical than flying pigs and Flava Flav? Hahaha. I usually have more conceptual ideas behind my artwork lately, but this just seemed right. This was my first relief. Thinking I may do a few more. Love the process and the print quality. Please disregard the photo quality. I took it with my cell phone as I was leaving the shop.

Haven't updated in awhile. This was one of the many prints I did this past semester. It's a lithograph. This isn't the complete project. I continued with this print by splattering brown ink and water color over it. I'll try and post that up at a later time.

Photoshop Collage

I did this for my CPS class. We had to just make a collage using 20 or more layers. I'm learning a little bit more about Ps, so it gets more fun each time I use it. Also, it's just fun to mess around with the program.

X-mas Gifts

This was a cheap gift year for me! Not having a job has certainly taken its toll, so I had to be more creative on the Xmas gifts.

For my Mom and Dad, I made stocking stuffer personalized notepads. I made the designs in InDesign CS3 and used an off-set printer to print. Then I used a padding compound to keep it all together! I don't know what my Dad did with his, but here's my Mom's and mine:
I also screen printed a few things. I made my sister a tote and a matching shirt for one of her gifts. The image on the blue bag is the same on a teal shirt. The pink bag, I made for myself :)

Sorry the photos are kind of awkwardly placed. The slow internet connection at my house has made me impatient, so I am taking what it's giving me and running with it. Hopefully you all had a wonderful holiday!

Masquerade Mayhem!

Another successful craft night at Kiki Keller's house resulted in the creation of some pretty sweet masks! I ended up making two. It's obvious that there is a lot more time and effort put in the sequined mask, but both were a lot of fun to make.

Wrath of the Damned

My sister's boy friend, Phil Hornshaw, has a blog call Wrath of the Damned. He asked me a few weeks ago to make a new background for the blog. After a few weeks of laziness, I finally started tinkering with Photoshop and made this. I wish I knew more about Ps, but I guess I just learn as I go. I plan on making another one, more comic book styled. For now, I am happy with this. Check out Phil's blog! http://wrathofthedamned.com

Self-Portrait

Took a drawing class this semester. I have never been too great with just drawing, so I thought it might be a little sketchy (pun intended). This was our final assignment. I think it KIND OF looks like me, but it could be better. It may look a little funky, but it makes more sense if you know I'm laying on my stomach. Sooo now you know. I had a hard time with the pupils and no matter how many times I did it, my eyes still look cross-eyed.
